Fossil DNA: My new fascination.

If fossil viruses have been stored into our DNA, containing data as far back as from our prehistorical past (see: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/12/science/12paleo.html?pagewanted=1), couldn’t it stand to reason that we carry other kinds of “non viral” fossil DNA which may carry data from our ancestors and the environments/conditions they lived in?

could it be possible to one day track your entire families medical history with one prick of the finger?

..or perhaps also explain why some feel as though they can recall “previous lives” and/or “previous life experiences” ..some of which in vivid detail.

It stands to reason, and logic, that this data would be most likely transferred by our biological relatives, but, perhaps this data is also unconsciously transferred by something as simple as a handshake.

So i ask, could we be unconscious hosts to a library of world history, beyond the viruses we so recently discovered?
